The Oregon School Library Standards and subsequent Grade-Level Learning Goals were developed to provide direction for teacher-librarians in instruction and programming, and they are essential to meeting the needs of the 21st-century learner.
The Standards were adopted by the State Board of Education on January 22, 2015. The Oregon Department of Education points to the OASL Library Standards as a model for quality library instruction.
